Terms of use

Draft, pending owner review. Not legal advice.

In short: this site explains Open Tutor and runs an early-access list. Joining is free and promises nothing beyond an email when lessons open. Use the site fairly, and these terms apply.

Who are these terms with?

These terms are between you and the operator of Open Tutor ("Open Tutor", "we"). The operator's legal name and postal address will be published on this page before any email is sent to the early-access list. By using opentutor.tech you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What is the Open Tutor website?

The website at opentutor.tech describes Open Tutor, a learning platform that is not open yet, and lets you join an early-access list. It does not offer accounts, lessons or payments. Those will come with separate terms when the platform opens.

What does joining early access mean?

Joining the early-access list means we will email you when Open Tutor lessons open. It is free.

Joining does not create an account, reserve a place, or give you a right to any product, feature, price or date. We may change, delay or cancel plans for the platform. You can leave the list at any time through the unsubscribe link or by emailing hello@opentutor.tech. The privacy policy explains how your email is handled.

What can I do with the content on this site?

You may read, share links to and quote short parts of the content on this site, including the guides, with a link back to the source page.

Everything else on the site, including text, illustrations, the Open Tutor name and logo, belongs to Open Tutor or its licensors. You may not copy large parts of it, republish it as your own, or use the Open Tutor name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. The brand kit page lists what you can use when writing about Open Tutor.

Names of third-party tools on this site belong to their owners. Mentioning a tool does not mean Open Tutor is affiliated with it or endorsed by it.

What must I not do on this site?

Do not misuse the site. In particular, do not:

  • sign up anyone else without their permission, or use an address you do not control;
  • submit the sign-up form automatically or in bulk;
  • try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

We may remove sign-ups that break these rules.

Is the information on this site guaranteed?

No. The guides and pages are written carefully and in good faith, but they are general information, not professional advice, and may contain mistakes or go out of date. The site is provided "as is".

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live. Apart from that, Open Tutor is not liable for indirect losses arising from your use of this free website.

Can these terms change?

Yes. We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to people on the early-access list, we will tell them by email.

Which law applies?

The law that governs these terms will be stated here before the learning platform launches. Whatever it is, if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
