Short answers first. Detail underneath.
What is Open Tutor?
Open Tutor is a self-paced learning platform for the LLM era, with short, gamified lessons on the tools people use now, built on fundamentals.
Tools and techniques change faster than a long video course can be recorded. Open Tutor teaches in small interactive steps, keeps the basics skimmable, and maintains its lessons as each field moves.
Who is Open Tutor for?
Open Tutor is for people who want current skills without skipping the fundamentals: career builders and switchers, working professionals, creators learning a craft, and language learners.
If you keep finding tutorials that are out of date, or want to get faster with AI tools without a 20-hour course, it is built for you.
Is Open Tutor free?
Most Open Tutor courses and lessons are free.
Open Tutor makes money from optional extras. The core lessons in every track do not need them.
What costs money on Open Tutor?
Open Tutor charges for optional extras: quality-of-life features, AI skill sets, resource bundles and a few paid courses.
AI skill sets are ready-made agent skills, prompts and configs for a track. Prices are not set yet; they will appear on the pricing page before anything is for sale.
What can I learn on Open Tutor?
Open Tutor launches with four tracks: coding, animation and motion, languages, and everyday productivity with AI tools and workflows.
Each track pairs fundamentals with the tools and techniques working practitioners use today. The tracks page lists example skills for each.
How is Open Tutor different from a video course?
Open Tutor lessons are short, interactive steps that you do, not long videos that you watch, and they are kept current instead of recorded once.
Each lesson has a skim card, interactive steps and a checkpoint. Deep dives are optional, and tool cards show what practitioners use now and when to pick something else.
Does Open Tutor still teach the fundamentals?
Yes. Every Open Tutor track teaches the fundamentals underneath its tools, written to be skimmed and revisited.
Tools change; the ideas under them change slowly. Knowing both is what lets you pick up the next tool quickly. The how-it-works page shows the path from basics to current tools.
How does Open Tutor keep lessons up to date?
Open Tutor lessons are maintained against the current state of each field, and stale content is flagged and replaced.
That is the point of the platform: you should not have to guess whether what you are learning still applies.
How long is an Open Tutor lesson?
Open Tutor lessons are short: a few minutes of interactive steps that end at a checkpoint.
Short lessons fit into a busy day and build a streak. When a topic grabs you, optional deep dives let you keep going for as long as you like.
Is Open Tutor gamified?
Yes. Open Tutor uses progress, streaks, levels and checkpoints to keep you moving.
Checkpoints confirm you understood a lesson before you move on. Streaks reward small, regular sessions over occasional marathons.
Can I use Open Tutor now?
Not yet. Open Tutor lessons are not open; early access is, and the list is how you hear first when lessons open.
There is no announced opening date. The guides on this site are free to read now.
